Hyderabad will host a colloquium on February 25, 2026, focusing on Telangana’s state finances and health sector. The event is a collaboration between the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Telangana Chapter, and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).
The CAG-ICSSR Colloquium Series will take place at Osmania University’s Centenary Seminar Hall. It runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The discussions aim to improve public financial management. They also seek to increase fiscal transparency and address governance issues.

The colloquium centers on two main topics: “State of the Finances of Telangana” and “Health Sector of Telangana.” These themes will drive dialogue between academics, audit professionals, and policymakers.
Speakers include Dr. Bibhu Prasad Nayak from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. VM Sarma Jana, former professor at the University of Hyderabad’s School of Economics, will also speak. Other participants are T Tirupati Rao, ICSSR council member and former Osmania University Vice-Chancellor. P Madhavi and Dr. Sanjay Rao Kamineni from the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) will also present.

Discussions will cover Telangana’s revenue and expenditure trends. Debt sustainability and investment priorities will be examined. A specific session will analyze the health sector’s performance.
