About This Scholarship

The NSP Centrally Sponsored Scheme Of Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students in Jammu and Kashmir for 2025 is an initiative by the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. This program aims to support Scheduled Caste (SC) community students residing in Jammu and Kashmir who are currently studying in Classes 1 to 10.

• Hostellers under Component II (applicable for students from Class 3 to 10) receive ₹8,000 per annum.

Additionally, a 10% extra allowance is provided to disabled students. This disability must be certified by a competent medical authority of the State Government or Union Territory Administration, as defined under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation Act, 1995).

• Be a ward or child of workers engaged in manual scavenging, tanning, flaying, waste picking, or hazardous cleaning.
• Be studying in Classes 1 to 10 on a full-time basis in a government or private school. The school must be duly recognized by the concerned State Government/Union Territory Administration/Central Board.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

Caste certificate issued by a competent authority, such as a Tehsildar or District Magistrate, verifying the student's SC status.
Income certificate issued by a competent authority, such as a Tehsildar or District Magistrate, indicating the annual income of the student's parents or guardian.
Aadhaar card of the student and their parent(s) or guardian.
School admission proof, such as a copy of the admission form or a letter from the school principal.
Previous academic year's marksheet (if applicable).
Passport-sized photographs of the student and their parent(s) or guardian.
Bank account details, including the bank name, branch, account number, and IFSC code.
• A duly filled and signed declaration form, as prescribed by the state government.

How to Apply

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following these steps:

1. Click on the 'Apply Now' button on the official website.
2. Click on the 'Register' button and complete the required registration details. (Note: If you are already registered, log in using your Gmail, mobile number, or email ID).
3. Navigate to the 'Students' option on the left-hand side of the dashboard and click on it.
4. Click on the 'Login' button under the OTR (One-Time Registration) option. This is necessary to apply for a scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
5. Click on 'New user? Register yourself' located on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
6. Carefully read the details, tick the checkbox to confirm, and then click on the 'Next' button.
7. Enter a functional mobile number, the captcha code displayed, and the OTP (One-Time Password) received. Submit these details to complete the initial registration process.
8. Fill in all the required details and click on 'Save & Register' to finalize the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process. (Note: This provides a temporary registration number. Students need to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to fully complete the OTR process).
9. After successful registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option and click on the 'Login' button.
10. Select the specific scholarship, fill in all the necessary details in the application form, upload the required documents, and finally, submit your application.
