Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has opened admissions for the 2026-27 academic year. Applications are accepted from February 20 to March 25, 2026 . The university is introducing 30 new undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
New Courses Added
The new courses span humanities, sciences, engineering, law, architecture, hotel management, and vocational education. The admission prospectus details course structure, eligibility, fees, and facilities.
Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs
New programs include BA (Hons) Japanese Studies, BA (Hons) German Studies, and BA (Hons) Uzbek Language, Literature & Culture. There are also new self-financed options like BA (Hons) Human Resource Management.
Science and Technology Focus
Science offerings include MSc programs in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Botany, Renewable Energy, and Biophysics, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP). New engineering courses include BTech in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence and Civil Engineering. Evening engineering degrees in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering are also available.
Law and Management
The university is launching LLM programs in Criminal Law, Corporate Law, and Personal Law. A Master of Hotel Management program is also being offered.
Vocational and Diploma Courses
Vocational programs include BVoc. (Molecular Diagnostics). Diplomas in Leather Goods & Footwear Technology and an Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling are also new additions.
Admission Process Updates
JMI will implement Multiple Entry and Exit options for its Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP), following NEP 2020 guidelines. Applications are categorized into general university, CUET-based, BTech/BArch, and NEP programs.
Application Window
The application window for entrance and national test-based programs, including CUET, JEE Main, NATA, and NEET, runs from February 20 to March 25, 2026 .
Expanded Test Centers
JMI has increased its test centers from 8 to 11. New locations include Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj. Existing centers are Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.
Foreign Student Fees
Fees for foreign students have been reduced. A differential fee structure is in place for students from SAARC, West Asia, African, and Latin American countries.
