J-K Govt Outsourcing 23,000 Jobs Sparks Youth Outcry

Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma stated on Saturday that the Jammu and Kashmir government has outsourced approximately 23,000 jobs. Sharma, a BJP leader, claims this action has “shattered” the employment prospects of the region’s unemployed youth.

Outsourcing of Government Jobs

Sharma criticized the current administration for outsourcing these positions instead of filling them through a transparent recruitment process. He characterized the move as a “huge betrayal” to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. He spoke to reporters following a BJP joining event in Srinagar.

The government’s admission came in a written reply to a question posed by MLA Sajad Lone. The reply indicated that a total of 22,886 positions were outsourced across Jammu and Kashmir over the past two years. This data was presented as a written response in the assembly.

Opposition Demands Action

Sharma issued a warning to the government. He demanded that the outsourcing order be rolled back. Failure to comply, he stated, would result in facing the “wrath of the youth.” The BJP plans to highlight this issue and scrutinize the government’s employment policies.

Sharma contrasted the current situation with the past. He claimed Prime Minister Narendra Modi provided security to the youth of Kashmir. He alleged that the current leadership has since removed their job opportunities. He also accused the Abdullah and Mufti families of misrepresenting the BJP to deter people from joining the party. Sharma stated that increasing numbers of youth and political activists are joining the BJP, indicating its growing acceptance in Kashmir.

Criticism of Opposition Parties

Sharma also commented on PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks regarding an Indo-US trade deal. He suggested Mufti should be questioning the Jammu and Kashmir government directly. He noted that she has four MLAs and should hold the local administration accountable. Sharma alleged that the PDP and the National Conference (NC) are allied. He believes this exposes their “dual character.” He urged the people of Kashmir to trust the BJP. He promised the party would hold the two families accountable.
