305 Punjab Govt Students Qualify JEE Mains 2026

CHANDIGARH: 305 students from Punjab government schools passed the JEE Mains 2026 examination. This marks a 63 percent increase from the 187 students who qualified last year. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced the results on Saturday.

JEE Mains Success for Government Schools

The Punjab Education Minister stated that 305 students achieved qualification on their first attempt. This achievement is considered a significant milestone for the state’s school education system. Five students from the Minister’s constituency, Sri Anandpur Sahib, also qualified.

Next Steps for Qualified Students

The Punjab government plans to host a three-week residential training camp. This camp will prepare the qualified students for the JEE Advanced examination. The program aims to provide focused guidance for the next stage of the engineering entrance process.

Key Statistics and Growth

The number of successful candidates increased by 63 percent. Last year, 187 students qualified for JEE Mains. Minister Bains attributed this growth to the state’s ‘Sikhya Kranti’ initiative. He expressed gratitude to the teachers for their efforts.

Notable Student Achievements

Bhavishya, a student from Amritsar’s School of Eminence, scored 98.182 percentile. His parents are a mobile repair shop owner and a tailor. Dilkhush Jha from Bathinda secured 95.091 percentile. His father is a laborer and his mother a homemaker.

Priyanka Sharma, a science student from Sangrur’s School of Eminence, achieved 96.44 percentile. She simultaneously prepared for the NEET examination. These students represent diverse backgrounds and demonstrate strong academic performance.

Government Support and Recognition

Minister Bains stated that no other state government has matched this level of success in government schools. He congratulated the 305 students and their parents. He also thanked the teachers for contributing to this historic day for Punjab’s government school system.
