Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has opened admissions for the 2026-27 academic year, introducing 30 new courses and implementing a multiple-entry system for its four-year undergraduate program (FYUP). Tuition fees will remain unchanged for all programs.
The university released its admission prospectus, detailing undergraduate and postgraduate offerings. Applications are categorized into General University Programs, CUET-based Programs, B.Tech and B.Arch Programs, and Multiple Entry NEP Programs.
The application form for JMI admissions will be available online from February 20 . Registrations close on March 25 . Candidates can also apply up to 10 days after their respective entrance exam results are declared.
Expanded Exam Centers
JMI has increased its entrance exam centers to 11. New locations include Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj. Existing centers are Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal. This expansion aims to provide wider access to students across India.
No Fee Increase, New Fee Structure
The university confirmed that tuition fees will not increase for the 2026-27 academic session. JMI has also introduced a region-wise differential fee structure. Fees for international students from SAARC, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America have been reduced to encourage global enrollment. This applies to eligible undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs.
FYUP Multiple Entry Begins
In line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, JMI will commence admissions under the multiple-entry mode for its FYUP. The application window for vacant seats in this category closes on April 10 .
New Programs Introduced
The 30 new programs span various disciplines, including humanities, science, engineering, law, architecture, hotel management, and vocational education. Highlights include:
- BA (Hons) Japanese Studies (Self-Financed)
- BA (Hons) German Studies (Self-Financed)
- MSc Biosciences as per NEP
- B.Tech Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (Self-Financed)
- LLM Criminal Law (Regular/Regular-Self-Financed)
- Master of Hotel Management (Self-Financed)
Other new programs include various Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc) courses, Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP), and Master of Technology (M.Tech) specializations.
