NEET PG 2025 NRI Counselling: Priority System Announced

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced a priority system for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) seat allotment in the NEET PG 2025 counselling stray vacancy round. This system dictates the order in which eligible NRI candidates will be considered for available seats.

NRI Seat Allotment Priority System

The MCC released an official notice on February 19, 2026 , outlining the new priority structure. This system aims to streamline the allotment process for seats designated under the NRI quota.

Priority Levels Defined

Under the new system, candidates are assigned priority levels. Priority 1 is designated for NRI candidates and their direct children. Priority 2 is for candidates who are first-degree relatives of NRI wards.

The notice also states that second-degree relatives of NRI wards will be considered after first-degree relatives. This hierarchy ensures a clear order of preference for seat allocation.

Provisional List of Eligible Candidates

The MCC has also released a provisional list of candidates deemed eligible to fill NRI choices. This list follows a scrutiny of documents provided by the applicants.

This list is subject to change. Candidates are advised to review it carefully for accuracy. The MCC has emphasized that the list is provisional and may be updated.

Document Verification for NRI Quota

Admission under the NRI quota requires candidates to present original documents. These documents prove their NRI status and relationship to the NRI ward.

Requirements at Reporting Time

Candidates must submit these original documents upon reporting to their allotted medical college. Failure to produce the required documentation on time will result in the cancellation of their admission.

The MCC has stressed the importance of submitting all necessary original documents correctly. Seat allotment cancellation will occur if any document deficiencies are found at the time of admission.

The allotment process will proceed sequentially. Priority 1 candidates will be considered first, followed by Priority 2 candidates. Seat availability will determine the final allocation.
