The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Kashmir has booked four individuals in connection with a medical college admission fraud. Officials announced the charges Friday. The case involves alleged deception in admissions to a medical college in Bangladesh.
The EOW submitted its chargesheet to the Chief Judicial Magistrate in Srinagar. The investigation stems from a complaint filed by a parent.
Medical College Admission Fraud Uncovered
The complainant reported being introduced to Peerzada Aabid by a relative. Aabid then connected the complainant with Syed Wasim, owner of Europe Consultancy Centre. Both allegedly promised to secure admission for the complainant’s son to a medical college in Bangladesh.
The complainant was subsequently introduced to Syed Suhail Aijaz and Zaigam Khan. They are identified as owners of Overseas Consultancy. These individuals also allegedly assured the complainant of admission facilitation.
Financial Deception Alleged
Acting on these assurances, the complainant paid a significant sum. This money was intended for fees at Park View Medical College. The investigation revealed that the accused individuals collected a large amount of money from the complainant.
However, only USD 8,000 (approximately ₹6.04 lakh based on 2021 exchange rates) was reportedly deposited with the college. The remaining funds were allegedly not transferred by the accused.
Student Denied Education
As a result of the incomplete fee payment, the student was expelled from the institution. Officials stated that the allegations against the four accused are substantiated. This conclusion is based on bank records, official correspondence from the medical college, and statements collected during the investigation.
