26 Staff Booked in Maharashtra HSC Mass Copying Case

Twenty-six college staffers face booking in connection with a mass copying incident during the Maharashtra Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams. The incident occurred on February 16 in Washim district. A surprise inspection by the flying squad revealed the alleged misconduct during the Physics exam.

Mass Copying Incident Details

The inspection took place at Shri Mainagiri Maharaj Junior College. Officials reported that 581 students were involved in mass copying at the examination center. Following the discovery, 26 staff members present at the center were booked.

The education department has proposed suspending the 26 booked individuals. This proposal has been sent to the concerned college administration.

Ongoing Investigation and Actions

Answer sheets from students implicated in the mass copying are currently under scrutiny. Further actions will be taken based on the findings. These actions will adhere strictly to the regulations set by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

A Zilla Parishad official confirmed the developments. The flying squad’s surprise inspection led to the unearthing of the large-scale copying operation. The college staff’s alleged involvement is under investigation.
