About This Scholarship
The NSP Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children Post-Matric Scholarship, Arunachal Pradesh 2025-26, is a vital initiative by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. It aims to provide crucial financial assistance to students from Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities who are pursuing education from Class 11 and above.
This comprehensive scheme supports a wide array of courses, encompassing professional, technical, non-professional, and non-technical fields. This includes various levels of study, even covering correspondence courses through distance and continuing education.
Selected candidates will receive substantial support, including a monthly maintenance allowance of up to ₹1,200, along with other essential benefits to aid their educational journey.
The application deadline for this scholarship is October 10, 2025.
Candidates will be selected based on the fulfillment of the detailed eligibility criteria outlined for the scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, an applicant must:
• Be a citizen of India.
• Be a domicile of Arunachal Pradesh.
• Belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
• Have passed the Class 10/12 or higher secondary examination from a recognised university or board.
• Have an annual family income of less than ₹2,50,000.
• Hold a valid account in a scheduled bank linked to Aadhaar and a mobile number.
• Not be receiving any other scholarship.
Note:
• The scholarships will be awarded for the study of post-matriculation/post-secondary courses. These courses must be recognised by the concerned approving authority and pursued in the following categories of institutions/universities/colleges:
• All government institutes/colleges/universities.
• Institutions of National Importance.
• Central university/state university/autonomous colleges recognised by the UGC and universities/colleges recognised under section 2(f) and/or 12(b) of the UGC Act.
• Deemed universities.
• Private universities recognised by state/centre with ‘A’ level or equivalent accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) or National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
• Private professional institutions affiliated with a recognised central/state university.
• Schools/colleges recognised by government/government-aided for Classes 11 and 12.
• Diploma-granting institutions as recognised by state/UT governments.
• Vocational training institutes affiliated to the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT).
• Institutions affiliated/approved by the appropriate bodies like MCI/AICTE or any regulatory body established by the state/centre as approving authority for a particular course.
Required Documents
Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
• A passport-size photograph of the student.
• Domicile certificate.
• Academic transcripts of previous qualifying examinations, including certificates, diplomas, degrees, etc.
• ST certificate duly signed by an authorised Revenue Officer (RO), not below the rank of Tehsildar.
• An income certificate of parent(s)/guardian(s) issued by the authority as decided by the state government.
• A receipt in acknowledgement of the scholarship in the previous year (if applicable).
• Disability certificate (if applicable).
How to Apply
Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship through the following steps on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP):
Step 1: Visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) to begin your application process.
Step 2: Click on the 'New user? Register yourself' option, typically found on the left-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 3: Carefully read the details provided, tick the confirmation checkbox, and then click on the 'Next' button.
Step 4: Enter a functional mobile number, the displayed captcha code, and the One-Time Password (OTP) you receive. Submit these details to complete the initial registration.
Step 5: Proceed to fill in all the required personal and academic details. Click on 'Save & Register' to finalize the 'One-time registration (OTR)' process.
Note: This is an initial temporary registration number. Students are required to download the OTR mobile application for face authentication to fully complete the OTR process.
Step 6: After successfully completing your registration, navigate to the 'Apply for Scholarship' option. Click on the 'Login' button and access your account using your registered credentials.
Step 7: Select the appropriate scholarship from the available list. Fill in all the required application details, upload the necessary documents as specified, and finally submit your application.
Important Note: All applicants are strongly advised to fill in the information correctly and accurately on the application form. Once the application is submitted, no changes can be made or entertained. Additionally, submitting multiple applications for the same scholarship will result in immediate disqualification.
