Himachal Schools Fast-Track CBSE Affiliation

Himachal Pradesh will expedite CBSE affiliation for 140 government schools. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu issued the directive on Friday. Ninety-nine schools secured affiliation in the first phase. The remaining schools aim for affiliation for the next academic session.

Education Department Directives

During a high-level education department meeting, Sukhu mandated retaining teacher liens. This ensures teachers selected for CBSE schools maintain their parent cadre. Their promotional prospects will remain unaffected.

The Chief Minister also ordered relaxation of service conditions for principals. The requirement of three years’ remaining service for appointment was reduced to two years. This aims to streamline the appointment process for leadership roles in these schools.

New School Identity

CBSE-affiliated schools will feature a distinct logo. They will also adopt a specific colour scheme for uniforms. This creates a unified identity for these institutions.

Quality Monitoring

The state government is committed to enhancing education quality. Chief Minister Sukhu will personally monitor academic standards. He emphasized the importance of progress in these institutions.

Mobile Phone Policy

The meeting also reviewed the implementation of the ‘No Mobile Phone Policy.’ This policy takes effect on March 1 . The education department must complete all necessary formalities promptly.
