Uttar Pradesh officials are enhancing security measures for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 Board Examinations . The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) will conduct the exams from February 18 to March 12 . The decision to tighten security followed a review meeting Friday chaired by Additional Chief Secretary Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma.
Exam Schedule and Shifts
Both high school and intermediate examinations will take place in two shifts daily. Shift 1 is scheduled from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM. Shift 2 will run from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The Class 10 exams begin with Hindi, followed by Computer Science.
Security Enhancements Ordered
Officials mandated regular inspections of district command and control rooms. Random checks of examination centres will ensure adequate furniture, functional toilets, and reliable power and water supply. Armed police will be deployed to secure control rooms at all UP board exam centres.
Logistical Preparations
District school inspectors must complete all exam arrangements on time. Room inspector details must be submitted to district control rooms. Advance funds for examination work will be released immediately to employees.
Vigilance and Verification
Director of Education Mahendra Dev emphasized careful verification of room inspectors and their identification. Flying squads will maintain strict vigilance at sensitive examination centres. Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh instructed officials to strengthen security for question papers and answer sheets.
Combating Misinformation and Ensuring Safe Transport
Officials are to take swift legal action against social media rumours. They must also ensure the secure transportation of answer sheets to collection centres after the exams conclude.
