NCET 2026 Registrations Open for ITEP Admission | Apply by March 10

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened registrations for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026. The deadline to apply is March 10 .

The NCET 2026 is for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). Applications are accepted through the official NTA websites: nta.ac.in and exams.nta.nic.in .

The ITEP program is offered at central and state universities. This includes institutions like IITs, NITs, and RIES. The admission is for the academic session 2026-27.

NCET 2026 Exam Details

The computer-based NCET 2026 is tentatively scheduled for April 17 . The exam will be administered in 13 languages. These include Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The ITEP program is a dual major. Students will specialize in a school-specific stage. They will also choose a second major in another discipline.

Registration Fees

Registration fees vary by category. The fee for the General category is Rs 1,200 . For Other Backward Classes (OBC) – Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates, the fee is Rs 1,000 .

Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), and Third Gender categories will pay Rs 650 .

Syllabus and Exam Structure

The NCET 2026 syllabus covers reading comprehension, literary aptitude, and vocabulary. Domain subject content will align with the Class 12 curriculum.

The exam paper will include questions on general knowledge and current affairs. It will also test general mental ability, numerical ability, and quantitative reasoning. Logical and analytical reasoning skills will be assessed.

Additionally, the computer-based test will feature topics from science, mathematics, performing arts, and languages. This broad scope ensures a comprehensive assessment of candidates.
