Approximately 15 lakh students are expected to take the exams across the state. Students must bring their Maharashtra HSC hall ticket, downloaded from the official website, mahahsscboard.in.
Exam Schedule and Format
Class 10 board exams are scheduled from February 20 to March 18, 2026. Class 12 exams will run from February 10 to March 11, 2026. The HSC exams will be conducted in two shifts. The first sitting is from 11 am to 2 pm. The second sitting is from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Students can write HSC papers in English, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu, Sindhi, or Hindi. Papers for Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Pali, and Ardhamagadhi must be written in the Devanagari script.
Passing Criteria
A minimum of 35% marks is required to pass each subject in the Maharashtra HSC exam. For subjects with both theory and practical components, marks from each part will be combined to determine passing marks.
Students failing one or more subjects may be eligible for condonation. Up to 15 marks in total, with a maximum of 15 marks per subject, can be condoned. This concession applies to a maximum of three subjects.
Candidates appearing with exemptions can receive automatic condonation of up to eight marks. This is proportionate to the number of failed subjects, not exceeding three marks in any single subject.
Grading System
The Maharashtra Board will award grades based on final exam performance. Students scoring 75% and above will receive “first class with distinction.” Marks between 60% and 74% will earn a “first class.” A “second class” is awarded for scores between 45% and 59%.
Students who appeared with exemptions will not receive distinction, first class, or second class grades. Those falling short of the first-class aggregate by up to three marks may receive grace marks for grade calculation.
