NEET Aspirant Death: Protest Demands Impartial Probe

Protesters gathered at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Sunday. They demanded an impartial investigation into the death of a NEET aspirant in Patna. The student died on January 11. Her parents allege police are denying sexual assault. They claim it was a suicide. The protest was organized by Bihar Nirbhaya Sangharsh Samiti, Delhi-NCR. Participants included family members and people from Delhi and Bihar.

Demonstrators expressed concern over the case’s handling. They called for a fair and transparent investigation. Protesters urged authorities to examine all facts. They want justice for the victim’s family.

Police Investigation Updates

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Bihar Police is investigating. The state government has recommended a CBI probe. This information was shared by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.

The victim was a NEET aspirant from Jehanabad district. She was found unconscious in a Patna girls’ hostel. She was admitted to a private hospital. She died after several days in a coma.

Calls for Judicial Supervision

The student’s father appealed for justice at the protest. He stated the family seeks accountability. He called for an investigation under judicial supervision. This would ensure impartiality. Uday Kumar Sharma, a Delhi-based social activist, led the protest. He emphasized the need for nationwide unity against crimes involving students and women.

Sharma vowed the movement would continue. Justice is the goal. Former MP Mahabal Mishra also attended. He supported an independent, court-monitored investigation.

The aspirant’s father previously spoke in Jehanabad. He demanded a judicial probe. He wants it led by a Supreme Court or High Court judge. He stated, “If I don’t get justice, I may go for self-immolation.” Protesters in Delhi plan to continue their campaign. They will mobilize national support.
