NEET UG 2026 Registration: Aadhaar eKYC, Live Photo Rules

The National Testing Agency (NTA) opened registrations for the NEET UG 2026 medical entrance exam on February 8. The application window closes on March 8. The exam is scheduled for May 3.

New Registration Security Measures

NTA has introduced new rules for the NEET UG 2026 application process. These changes aim to prevent impersonation and duplicate entries. New security measures include Aadhaar-based eKYC and live photograph capture.

Aadhaar-Based eKYC Required

Applicants must use Aadhaar-based eKYC for identity verification. Candidates should ensure their Aadhaar-linked mobile number is active and has network connectivity. NTA stated this requirement in a notice to applicants.

Live Photograph Capture Implemented

A live photograph is now mandatory during registration. The photograph must fill 80% of the frame. Candidates should avoid wearing caps, glasses, or goggles. This measure allows the system to compare the live photo with the Aadhaar photo. If the photographs do not match, candidates can upload a supporting certificate.

Exam City and Medium Determination

The choice of exam city and language medium will be based on the applicant’s permanent and current address provided in the form. NEET UG 2026 will be administered in 13 languages.
