Himachal Pradesh School Mobile Phone Ban Starts March 1, 2026

The announcement came Thursday during the closing ceremony of the 69th National School Games Under-19 Girls Handball Tournament in Bilaspur district. This initiative aims to improve student focus and academic performance.

Ban Details and Enforcement

Students found with mobile phones in school will face penalties. The fine is set at Rs 500 . The device will also be confiscated. Parents of violating students must attend mandatory counselling sessions at the school.

The Education Department will develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). This SOP will address repeated violations and ensure long-term compliance with the new rule.

The Himachal team won the National Handball Championship. To celebrate this victory, a cash prize of Rs 20 lakh was announced.
