The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released results for the Phase 13 Selection Post examination, with only 2.3% of nearly 3 million candidates advancing to the next stage. A total of 67,500 candidates were shortlisted from 29,39,401 applicants for positions across matriculation, higher secondary, and graduation levels.
Exam Disruption and Shortlisting Rates
The recruitment process, which commenced in July, experienced multiple postponements. Retests were conducted for several shifts due to technical and administrative issues. These disruptions led to nationwide protests by candidates alleging mismanagement and discrepancies in the exam conduct.
For the matriculation level , 12,09,332 candidates applied. Only 17,720 were shortlisted, representing less than 1.5% of applicants. The computer-based test occurred between July 24 and August 2.
At the higher secondary (10+12) level , 7,08,219 candidates applied. This resulted in 14,768 qualifiers, a shortlisting rate of just over 2%.
The graduation and above level saw the highest number of qualifiers. Of the 10,21,850 applicants, 35,055 candidates were shortlisted, accounting for 3.4% of the total at this level.
Normalization and Qualifying Marks
SSC stated that candidate scores were normalized. Qualifying marks for unreserved categories were set at 30%. Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates needed 25%. Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and other categories required 20%.
The final answer key and response sheets for the Selection Posts exams will be uploaded soon on the official website, ssc.gov.in.

In a separate announcement, the SSC confirmed the withdrawal of the Technical Attendant (Cook) post. This vacancy (Post Code MP10425) under the Directorate General NCC was removed at the department’s request and will not proceed.
