The challenge window for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 answer key closes today. Candidates can submit objections to the provisional answer key on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Each objection requires a fee of Rs 200.
The NTA is expected to release the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results on February 12 . These results are for admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlanning programs nationwide.
Exam Schedule and Details
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exams for engineering were held from January 21 to 24 and on January 28. Exams for architecture and planning candidates took place on January 29.
The computer-based tests were conducted in two shifts daily. The forenoon shift ran from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The afternoon shift took place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Admissions Process
JEE Main is the entrance exam for engineering, architecture, and planning courses. It is a gateway for admission to government and private colleges. It also serves as a pathway for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Over 13 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main 2026 Session 1. Approximately 2.5 lakh students will qualify for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is the exam for IIT admissions.
Following the result declaration, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will manage counseling. This process is for admissions to IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other government-funded technical colleges.
