NIFT 2026 Exam: Feb 8 Start, Key Guidelines for Test Day

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) 2026 entrance examination starts on February 8, 2026 . The exam will be administered in a computer-based format at designated test centers. Candidates must adhere to security protocols during verification. An original, printed copy of the admit card is mandatory for entry. Digital versions will not be accepted.

Exam Schedule and Entry Times

For Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs, the General Ability Test (GAT) takes place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM . The Creative Ability Test (CAT) is scheduled for 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM .

Candidates should arrive at the test center by 8:30 AM for the morning session. Entry to the examination hall will close 30 minutes before the exam begins. Latecomers will not be permitted to enter.

Required Documents and Items

Bring one printed copy of your NIFT 2026 admit card and a valid photo identification. This could include a driver’s license, Aadhaar card, or passport.

Inside the exam hall, only a transparent water bottle and specific stationery items are allowed. Prohibited items include electronic devices, calculators, and personal belongings not explicitly permitted.

Conduct During the Examination

Candidates must report to the designated seating arrangement upon entry. Affix your photograph to the attendance sheet. Sign the sheet in the designated space.

Strict adherence to exam rules is required. Any candidate found using unfair means will face disqualification. Cooperate fully with exam invigilators and security personnel.

Prohibited Items and Attire

Do not wear clothing with excessive pockets or elaborate designs. These items may cause delays during security checks.

Possession of any unauthorized material, including study notes or electronic gadgets, is forbidden. Ensure all prohibited items are left at home or in designated storage areas outside the examination hall.
