NIT Tiruchirappalli will conduct the NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2026 on June 6. The exam is scheduled from 4 pm to 6 pm, lasting two hours.
This computer-based test (CBT) is for admission to the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program for the 2026-27 academic session. The registration process will start soon on the official website, nimcet.admissions.nic.in.
NIMCET 2026 is the gateway to MCA programs at 11 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and two Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). Participating institutions include NIT Agartala, Bhopal, Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Kurukshetra, Patna, Raipur, Meghalaya, Tiruchirappalli, and Warangal. IIITs in Bhopal and Vadodara also offer MCA through this exam.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree. They need a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates, the minimum requirement is 55% marks or a 6.0 CGPA.
Additionally, applicants must have studied Mathematics or Statistics as a subject in their qualifying degree. Holders of a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree from a recognized university are also eligible.
Exam Pattern
The NIMCET 2026 exam comprises 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The total marks for the paper are 1,000. The exam is divided into four sections.
