Bihar Board Class 12 Exams 2026: 5 Lakh Students Start, 26 Expelled

More than 500,000 students began Bihar Board Class 12 exams on February 2, 2026. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducted the first day across 1,762 centers. This included 152 model centers.

BSEB expelled 26 students on the first day. One impersonator was also apprehended. Exams were held in two shifts.

Day 1 Exam Details

The morning shift ran from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. This session included the Science stream’s Biology exam. Nearly 500,000 students took this paper. The Philosophy exam was held for 3,842 candidates in the same shift.

The afternoon shift started at 2 p.m. and concluded at 5:15 p.m. Students from Arts and Commerce took the Economics exam. This session had 55,964 participants.

Examinations Board Oversight

BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor inspected several exam centers in Patna. He conducted surprise checks during both shifts. Kishor reviewed exam administration procedures. He also spoke with students about the questions. Some students were frisked during his visit.

Kishor directed that these examination standards continue. This oversight will be maintained until the exams end.

Upcoming Examinations

The BSEB Class 12 exams continue on February 3, 2026. The first shift features Mathematics. This paper is for Science and Arts stream students.

The second shift will include Political Science theory. This exam is for Arts students. Vocational course candidates will take their foundation theory exam. The Bihar Board Class 12 exams conclude on February 13, 2026.
