Jhabua Fair Swing Collapse: 14 Students Injured in MP

Fourteen students sustained injuries when a ‘Dragon Swing’ collapsed at a fair in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday. The accident involved students from a local government school and led to hospital admissions.

Incident Details

The ‘Dragon Swing’ collapsed during operation at the ‘Maharaj No Melo’ (Maharaj’s Fair), located near the Government School of Excellence in Jhabua. All 14 injured students, comprising 13 girls and one boy, attend the School of Excellence.

Authorities transported all students to Jhabua district hospital for treatment. District Collector Neha Meena reported two girls sustained serious injuries. Doctors are currently monitoring their condition. These two students may require admission to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), according to the Collector.

Investigation Underway

Collector Meena confirmed an administrative team is investigating the accident site. The investigation aims to determine the cause of the swing’s collapse. Authorities will take necessary action against anyone found negligent in operating the swing.

Eyewitness Accounts

Eyewitnesses at the fair stated the “Dragon Swing,” full of schoolchildren, collapsed while descending rapidly. Fairgoers assisted in rescuing the injured children and helped transport them to the hospital.
