JEE Main 2026: IIT Guwahati CSE Cut-offs Shift, Admit Cards Soon

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has seen shifts in its BTech cut-offs for the upcoming JEE Main 2026 admissions. The gender-neutral open category closing rank for Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) declined from 623 in 2024 to 792 in 2025, indicating a decrease in competition. In contrast, BTech Biosciences and Bioengineering remained the least competitive program, closing at 10727 in 2025 and 9178 in 2024.

BTech CSE consistently ranks as the preferred choice among applicants. According to the JIC report 2025 by IIT Kanpur, 24,413 aspirants opted for CSE at IIT Guwahati. Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) followed with 22,247 applicants.

IIT Hyderabad Cut-off Trends

IIT Hyderabad also reported changes in its CSE closing ranks. The open category saw ranks slip from 656 to 673. For Scheduled Caste (SC) students, ranks fell from 182 to 198. The CSE closing rank for the SC category shifted from 82 to 80.

Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) saw its closing rank increase from 623 in 2024 to 792 in 2025. This indicates a decrease in admission competitiveness for CSE during this period.

Conversely, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence experienced a slight increase in its closing rank, moving from 995 in 2024 to 1078 in 2025.
