GATE 2026 Admit Card Released: Download Now | Exam Dates, Pattern

IIT Guwahati has released the GATE 2026 admit card. Candidates can download their hall tickets from the official websites, gate2026.iitg.ac.in or goaps.iitg.ac.in . The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is scheduled for February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 , across more than 200 centers in India.

To access the admit card, applicants must use their enrollment ID and password. The document contains essential examination details, including the test center address, exact timings, candidate’s name, and exam day instructions.

GATE 2026 Exam Schedule

The GATE 2026 examination will be conducted in two daily shifts. Candidates must report as per their allocated session.

Test Pattern and Structure

The computer-based GATE 2026 will feature 30 test papers. Questions will be in English and include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.

  • MCQs: Candidates select one correct option from four.
  • MSQs: One or more correct options may exist out of four choices.
  • NAT Questions: Answers must be entered using a virtual keypad.

Candidates are permitted to use only the on-screen virtual calculator provided during the examination. Use of external calculators is prohibited, according to IIT Guwahati.

New Sectional Test Paper

IIT Guwahati recently announced the addition of a new sectional test paper: Energy Science (XE-I) . This paper falls under the Engineering Science (XE) category.

Eligibility and Score Validity

There is no upper age limit for appearing in the GATE 2026 examination. Candidates may appear for one or two test papers only. GATE 2026 scores will remain valid for three years from the result declaration date for admissions to MTech, MS, and PhD programs.
