IIT Guwahati has released the GATE 2026 admit card. Candidates can download their hall tickets from the official websites, gate2026.iitg.ac.in or goaps.iitg.ac.in . Test Pattern and Structure
The computer-based GATE 2026 will feature 30 test papers. Questions will be in English and include Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
- MCQs: Candidates select one correct option from four.
- MSQs: One or more correct options may exist out of four choices.
- NAT Questions: Answers must be entered using a virtual keypad.
Candidates are permitted to use only the on-screen virtual calculator provided during the examination. Use of external calculators is prohibited, according to IIT Guwahati.
New Sectional Test Paper
IIT Guwahati recently announced the addition of a new sectional test paper: Energy Science (XE-I) . This paper falls under the Engineering Science (XE) category.
Eligibility and Score Validity
There is no upper age limit for appearing in the GATE 2026 examination. Candidates may appear for one or two test papers only. GATE 2026 scores will remain valid for three years from the result declaration date for admissions to MTech, MS, and PhD programs.
