Eligibility Criteria for Agniveer Vayu 2027

Prospective candidates must meet specific academic and personal eligibility criteria to apply for Agniveer Vayu 01/2027. These requirements ensure candidates possess the necessary foundational knowledge and commitment.

  • Educational Qualification (Science Subjects): Applicants must have successfully completed Class 12. Required subjects include Physics, Mathematics, and English. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in all subjects combined, and also score at least 50% marks specifically in English.
  • Educational Qualification (Other Streams): For candidates from non-science streams, the same minimum aggregate marks of 50% and 50% in English in Class 12 apply.
  • Technical Qualifications: Individuals holding a three-year Diploma in Engineering (in any stream) are eligible. Additionally, students with two-year vocational courses, provided they meet specific subject and mark requirements, can also apply.
  • Marital Status: A crucial condition for eligibility is an undertaking not to marry. Candidates must remain unmarried throughout the defined four-year engagement period as an Agniveer.

Multi-Stage Selection Process

The selection of Agniveer Vayu candidates involves a rigorous, multi-phase evaluation. Each stage assesses different aspects of a candidate’s suitability for service in the Indian Air Force.

  • Written Examination: This initial phase is a computer-based test. It evaluates candidates’ knowledge in subjects relevant to their stream, typically English, Physics, and Mathematics for science subjects.
  • Central Air Force Selection Board (CASB) Assessment: Following the written exam, candidates undergo further assessment at a CASB. This includes psychological tests, group discussions, and personal interviews.
  • Document Verification: All submitted documents and certificates are thoroughly checked for authenticity and accuracy. Candidates must present original documents.
  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT) / Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates’ physical standards are measured, and their fitness levels are assessed. This includes running, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.

It is mandatory for candidates to download and print a color copy of their admit card. This printout serves as their hall ticket and must be carried to the exam center for verification purposes.

To assist candidates with their travel planning, the Indian Air Force will provide a Phase 1 city intimation slip. This slip will be made available at an earlier date, informing candidates about their allotted examination city.
