Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has opened school admissions for the 2026-27 academic session. Applications are now live for nursery, preparatory, and Classes 1, 6, 9, and 11. Interested candidates can apply online via the official portal, admission.jmi.ac.in .
The university announced no fee increase for Indian students across all classes and schools for the 2026-27 session. This decision maintains the existing fee structure for the upcoming year. JMI Vice Chancellor Asif stated, “Our schools are the foundation and bedrock of the education system of India.”
This fee freeze by JMI contrasts with a wider debate surrounding school fees in Delhi. Recently, over 800 private unaided schools in the capital challenged new fee regulations in the Delhi High Court. These regulations aimed to cap fees and registration charges. JMI has opted to retain its current fee structure while also emphasizing inclusive education and plans for infrastructure upgrades.
Applicants, including foreign nationals and NRI wards, can seek admission to several JMI schools. These include Mushir Fatma Nursery School, Jamia Middle School, Jamia Senior Secondary School, Syed Abid Husain Senior Secondary School (self-financed), and Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School (self-financed). The application fee is Rs 500 for Indian candidates. Foreign nationals and NRI wards must pay Rs 1,500 .
