AGARTALA, Tripura – All schools across Tripura will remain closed for five days, from January 6 to January 10, 2024 . Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced the decision on Monday. The closure addresses severe cold weather conditions currently affecting the northeastern state.

An official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Agartala centre confirmed the severity of the cold. Partha Roy, who heads the IMD Agartala Centre, further elaborated on the situation. He stated that the intense chill felt across Tripura directly stems from this ongoing cold wave. Such prolonged deviations from normal temperatures can pose health challenges, especially for young students.
