CBSE Skill Education Training for Teachers Starts Jan 5, 2026

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will host one-day Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) for skill education teachers. The programs start on January 5, 2026 , aiming to implement skill education for students in classes 6 to 8.

These offline programs will run from January 5 through January 31, 2026 . CBSE partners with Sahodaya schools to organize these events. Training sessions will occur in various schools across several regions.

Program Locations

  • Delhi
  • Uttar Pradesh
  • Punjab
  • Haryana
  • West Bengal
  • Rajasthan
  • Faridabad

Program Purpose

The primary goal of the CBPs is to ensure mandatory implementation of skill education. Teachers will learn to effectively use the Kaushal Bodh activity books. These books, developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), support practical learning.

Skill education focuses on equipping students with essential abilities. This includes critical thinking, problem-solving, digital literacy, and vocational competencies. The initiative supports a holistic educational approach, moving beyond traditional academic subjects. It aims to prepare students for future careers and real-world challenges.

Who Should Attend

CBSE urges participation from a wide range of school staff. Directors, principals, vice-principals, coordinators, and teachers from all CBSE-affiliated schools should attend. Their involvement ensures effective integration of skill education within their respective institutions.

Participation aims to standardize teaching methods for skill-based subjects nationwide. This consistency helps schools meet CBSE’s guidelines for mandatory skill education. It also promotes a unified approach to student development across the board, ensuring all students receive quality skill training.

Logistics and Costs

The Capacity Building Programmes are free for all participants. CBSE will not cover travel allowance (TA) or daily allowance (DA). Attendees must make their own arrangements for travel and accommodation, highlighting the voluntary nature of the attendance in terms of personal cost.

Each one-day session will operate in a face-to-face mode. Programs are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Participants are required to bring their copies of the NCERT Kaushal Bodh textbooks to the event. These textbooks serve as the core resource material for the training.

Future Training and Impact

CBSE plans to select Master Trainers (MTs) from among the CBP participants. These Master Trainers will then conduct further cascading training sessions within their regions. This strategy ensures the knowledge and effective teaching methods reach a broader network of educators efficiently.

The selection of Master Trainers creates a sustainable training model, fostering long-term professional development. It empowers schools to manage ongoing teacher training internally, reducing reliance on external programs for basic implementation. This initiative reinforces CBSE’s commitment to enhancing skill-based learning and preparing students for future success nationwide.
