IAF & IIT Madras Partner for Indigenous Airborne Comms

The Indian Air Force’s Software Development Institute (SDI) and IIT Madras recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement initiates the joint design and development of an indigenous digital communication system for airborne applications. This partnership marks a direct step toward achieving ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat,’ or a self-reliant India. Air Vice Marshal R Guruhari, Commandant of the SDI, signed the MoU. Prof V Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, also affixed his signature. Dr M J Shankar Raman, CEO of Pravartak Technologies Foundation, completed the signatories. Through this collaboration, the Indian Air Force aims to develop advanced algorithms for networking and encryption. These advancements will be directly integrated into future airborne communication systems.
