ALIGARH – Unidentified assailants shot and killed a school teacher Wednesday night on the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus. Police confirmed the death of Rao Danish Ali , a teacher at ABK Union High School, affiliated with AMU. He died at a local hospital after the attack, which occurred after 9 PM. Rao Danish Ali was walking near the Kennedy Auditorium within the AMU campus. Two colleagues accompanied him. Masked individuals accosted them. After a brief exchange, assailants fired at Rao Danish Ali from point-blank range. He collapsed instantly.
AMU Proctor Mohammad Waseem Ali stated Rao Danish Ali had just visited the AMU canteen for tea, a daily routine. Following the shooting, Ali was rushed to the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival due to severe injuries.
