Brainware University will launch two new management programs in 2026 : a five-year integrated BTech-MBA course and a one-year MBA. These programs align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework. The university aims to provide students with practical, industry-aligned skills, according to Saileswar Ghosh, professor and head of the Management department.
New Programs and Academic Structure
The new five-year BTech-MBA integrated course will begin in 2026. Simultaneously, a one-year MBA program will launch, following the government’s 4+1 framework. This framework includes four years of undergraduate study plus one year for a master’s degree.
Currently, the university’s BBA programs are four years long. They offer multiple exit options: a certificate after one year, a diploma after two, a degree after three, and an honors with research degree after four years. The MBA will be available in both one-year and two-year formats. This depends on whether the student completed a four-year or three-year undergraduate degree.
Curriculum and Industry Focus
The management department, established in 2016, focuses on contemporary and industry-oriented education. Its curriculum integrates data analytics, business intelligence, AI applications in management, and digital marketing. Teaching methods emphasize live projects, case studies, simulation exercises, and fieldwork.
The goal is to move from rote learning to practical exposure and problem-solving skills. Students also pursue certification courses through IBM. These courses provide training, global certification, and assistance with internships and placements.
Internship Opportunities
Internships are mandatory for both BBA and MBA programs. MBA students complete internships after their second semester. BBA students intern after their fourth semester. Many of these internships convert into full-time job roles. The university partners with industries to secure meaningful, project-based internships for its students.
Placement Overview
Brainware University reports strong placement results for its management graduates. The university maintains industry partnerships for relevant internships and job opportunities.
| Program | Placement Rate | Average Salary (LPA) | Highest Salary (LPA) |
|---|---|---|---|
| BBA | 100% | Rs 3-4 | Rs 11-12 |
| MBA | 90-95% | Rs 3-4 | Rs 11-12 |
Top recruiters include TCS, EY, ICICI, HDFC, Amazon, Flipkart, and Pantaloons. Some students choose entrepreneurship or join family businesses instead of participating in placements.
Adapting to Technological Change
Rapid technological change, particularly with artificial intelligence, presents a key challenge for management education. The speed of these changes requires continuous adaptation in skills, curriculum, and teacher training. Brainware University, as a private institution, updates its curriculum and faculty training quickly. It consults industry experts to ensure corporate relevance.
Current Programs and Features
The BBA program offers specializations in marketing, finance, HR, entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and business analytics. The business analytics program integrates with IBM, offering semester-wise certifications, training, and global certification opportunities. It also provides internship and placement support.
Student Support and Outcomes
Approximately 400 to 450 students graduate from the management department annually. This year, 590 students took admission in management courses. Many BBA digital marketing students pursue entrepreneurship. For instance, fifth-semester students launched ‘GiftYours,’ an e-commerce platform.
The university offers several scholarships for students from economically weaker backgrounds. These include the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, Minority Commission scholarships, and the university’s Vidyalankar Scholarship, which can cover up to 100% of tuition fees. Merit and individual circumstances also factor into financial aid decisions.
International Exchange Program
Brainware University facilitates a student exchange program with the US. Five selected students travel to the US annually for one semester. The selection process involves a written examination, a presentation, and an interview to assess English proficiency. Some students convert their J1 visa to an F1 visa, allowing them to pursue master’s studies and employment abroad. Three former participants have settled in the USA, and five more students are selected for a January intake.
