CLAT 2026 Results Expected December 17: Good Scores for Top NLUs

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will likely announce the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2026) results around December 17 . This timeline applies to both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) entrance exams, officials confirmed to Careers360.

CLAT UG and CLAT PG 2026 exams determine admissions for LLB and LLM programs. Twenty-five National Law Universities and other participating law colleges accept CLAT scores. The tests occurred on December 7 across 156 centers in 25 states, 93 cities, and four Union Territories.

Exam Participation and Answer Key

This year, 92,344 candidates registered for CLAT, a 17% increase from previous years. Attendance for CLAT UG was 96.83%. For CLAT PG, 92.45% of registered candidates appeared.

The Consortium released the provisional CLAT answer key three days after the exam. Candidates could challenge questions by paying a fee of Rs 500 per question. The challenge window closed on December 12 .

Checking Results and Counselling

CLAT 2026 results for both UG and PG will be declared on the same day. Candidates must use their registered mobile number and password to check scores on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Consortium will conduct multiple rounds of counselling based on CLAT scores after result declaration.

What Constitutes a Good CLAT Score?

The CLAT 2026 entrance exam had 120 multiple-choice questions. Each question carried 1 mark. A negative marking of 0.25 was applied for every incorrect answer. A score above 90 is generally considered a good score for CLAT admissions, based on exam paper analysis.
