Document Verification (DV) and Physical Standard Test (PST)
The Document Verification stage requires candidates to present original educational certificates, identity proofs, and other relevant documents for verification. This ensures all eligibility criteria are met. The Physical Standard Test involves measuring physical attributes. These include height, chest circumference (for male candidates), and weight. Candidates must meet predefined standards for their respective categories.
Computer Typing and Shorthand Tests
Following successful completion of Document Verification and the Physical Standard Test, qualified candidates will undergo further assessments. A mandatory Computer Typing Test will be conducted. This test evaluates typing speed and accuracy. Candidates must achieve specified words per minute (WPM) and accuracy percentages.
For candidates selected for the Police Sub-Inspector (Ministerial) post, an additional Shorthand Test is required. This test assesses the ability to transcribe dictated text accurately and swiftly. Both the typing and shorthand tests are qualifying in nature. They do not contribute to the final merit score but must be passed to proceed.
Final Selection Process
Candidates who successfully clear all qualifying stages—Document Verification, Physical Standard Test, Computer Typing Test, and where applicable, the Shorthand Test—will be considered for final selection. The final merit list will be based on the marks obtained in the offline written examination. Selection also adheres strictly to the government’s reservation policy. The UPPRPB will issue detailed instructions for the upcoming stages soon.
