IIT Delhi Concludes Manasvi STEM Program, Opens 2026 Applications

NEW DELHI – The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) concluded its fourth Manasvi STEM mentorship program. The program ran from May to December 2025 , engaging 100 high school girls from government schools.

IIT Delhi also announced that applications for the fifth edition of the Manasvi STEM program will open between February and March 2026 . The registration link will be available on the official academic outreach portal: academicoutreach.iit.ac.in.

Program Focus and Participation

The Manasvi program provides mentorship and exposure to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) resources at the IIT Delhi campus. Participants completed a multi-phase learning program designed to build skills and confidence in STEM fields.

For its fourth edition, over 80% of participants came from government schools. The upcoming fifth edition will exclusively target government school students, according to an official press release.

Program Structure

The Manasvi STEM program features three distinct phases: Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each phase offers different learning opportunities and hands-on experiences for the high school girls.

Summer Phase

  • Academically oriented lectures from IIT Delhi faculty, researchers, and women leaders.
  • Hands-on work at the IIT Delhi makerspace.
  • Students constructed solar lamps during this phase.

Autumn and Winter Phases

These phases focused on practical application and interactive learning. Activities included chemistry experiments, physics DIY projects, and drone demonstrations. Student-mentor interactions were a key component, allowing girls to engage directly with IIT Delhi students and faculty.

During the final phase, participants presented ideas related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) . IIT Delhi students mentored the girls, guiding them on idea implementation.

Statements and Impact

Somnath Baidya Roy, Dean (Planning) at IIT Delhi, addressed the participants. “Talent is never the barrier, belief is. You have the ability to build, innovate, and lead in STEM,” Roy stated. “With confidence and perseverance, there is no limit to how far you can go. IIT Delhi will always support your journey.”

Laxmi, Class 9, KV Paschim Vihar , commented on her experience: “This program opened up Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Maths for me. IIT Delhi faculty showed me what higher studies really look like. Most importantly, it gave me the confidence that I belong in STEM.”

Priyanshi, Class 9, KV Sector-5, Dwarka , shared her perspective: “The program has helped me see a side of science & technology that I could never have explored if this opportunity had not been given to me. Making solar lamps and doing things with our hands cannot be described in words.”
