IIT Kanpur Placements Soar: 672 Day 1 Offers, 16% Rise

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur recorded 672 job offers on the first day of its 2025-26 placement season. This marks a 16% increase in offers compared to day one of the previous year. The institute released this data, highlighting growth in industry demand for its graduates.

By the end of the first day, 627 students secured job offers. This figure includes pre-placement offers (PPOs). Overall placements increased by 20% compared to the prior placement season.

Pre-placement offers also showed significant growth. A total of 253 PPOs were extended to students. This represents a 27% rise in PPOs compared to the previous year’s figures.

International Offers and Recruiters

Nine students received international job offers on the first day. Over 250 recruiters have shown interest in hiring IIT Kanpur students for the current season.

  • BlackRock: An American multinational investment management corporation.
  • HSBC: A British multinational universal bank and financial services firm.

  • PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers): A multinational professional services network, one of the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms.
  • Navi Technologies: An Indian financial services company.
  • Qualcomm: An American multinational corporation that creates semiconductors, software, and services related to wireless technology.
  • Deutsche Bank: A German multinational investment bank and financial services company.
