About This Scholarship

Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, invites applications for the Victoria Doctoral Scholarships 2020. These scholarships are designed to encourage and support doctoral study (PhD) at Victoria University of Wellington. Graduate students who wish to enrol in a full-time PhD programme at Victoria are encouraged to apply.

The scholarship aims to foster high-quality research and academic excellence within the university.

Selected scholars will receive substantial financial support, which includes a stipend of NZD 23,500 per annum and domestic tuition fees for up to three years of their doctoral study. The application deadline for this scholarship is November 1st, 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Victoria Doctoral Scholarships, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

Be a graduate or postgraduate who is either commencing or currently undertaking doctoral study.
Intend to enrol for a full-time doctorate (PhD) at Victoria University of Wellington.
Alternatively, have already commenced Doctoral study at Victoria University of Wellington and be seeking continued support for their research.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare and submit the following required documents as part of their scholarship application:

• A 2000-word sample of academic writing in English. This sample should demonstrate your research and writing capabilities.
Certified copies of academic transcript/s from all previous tertiary institutions.
Degree certificates for all completed qualifications.
• For applicants from EU countries only, a certified copy of their Diploma Supplement.
Evidence of English Language Proficiency for all international students.

Note: International students are also required to submit translations of official documents, certified by an accredited translator, if the originals are not in English.
