Rajasthan School: Principal, Warden Probed for Student Thrashing

Authorities have initiated an inquiry against a principal and warden at a government residential school in Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The probe follows allegations of thrashing students. The incident reportedly occurred Thursday evening at the facility in Jhalrapatan. Students had reportedly jumped the school wall to attend a nearby fair.

Incident Details Emerge

Principal Rajendra Arya and Warden Mukesh Kumar Meena are under intense scrutiny. A video purportedly showing the incident surfaced online. It depicts Principal Arya hitting students with a stick. He then allegedly forced them into a semi-squatting posture. The school operates under the Tribal Area Development scheme.

Additional District Education Officer Pawan Patidar provided further details. He confirmed students jumped the wall to visit a local fair. They returned to the school around 5 PM. Principal Arya then allegedly punished the students upon their return.

Official Action Taken

Authorities took swift disciplinary action. Principal Rajendra Arya received an immediate transfer to the directorate of education in Bikaner. Warden Mukesh Kumar Meena was moved to the DoE district office. Both officials now hold an awaiting posting order (APO) status. This status signifies their removal from current duties pending new assignments.

Investigation Underway

A three-member committee has formed to thoroughly investigate the matter. The CEO Zila Parishad confirmed the committee’s establishment. This body will examine all aspects of the alleged thrashing incident.

Students also voiced their concerns regarding the situation. They staged a demonstration outside the school gate on Friday. Students demanded prompt action against both the principal and the warden. The school currently enrolls 243 students, ranging up to the 12th class.
