The Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) has launched three new short-term certificate courses for students and working professionals. These programs, covering electric vehicles, statistical data analysis, deep learning, and advanced optical diagnostic techniques, are scheduled to begin in late December 2025 on the IIT Mandi campus.
The courses, organized by the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) at IIT Mandi, aim to enhance practical competencies. Through hands-on training, participants will gain technical expertise relevant to emerging industries. The curriculum focuses on application-based learning, preparing individuals for real-world challenges.
Program Structure and Location
All programs will take place on the IIT Mandi campus during the Winter Semester Break 2025 . Participants will access campus laboratories with modern instruments. Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Course
This program provides an in-depth understanding of electric mobility systems. It covers fundamental concepts of electric vehicles (EVs), including architecture, components, and operational principles. The course explores hybrid vehicle systems, battery technology, and power electronics. Practical sessions will feature live demonstrations and hands-on exercises, allowing participants to work directly with EV components and diagnostics.
Statistical Data Analysis and Deep Learning 2.0
This course integrates theoretical knowledge with practical application in data science. It introduces core concepts of machine learning, neural networks, and deep learning architectures. Participants will receive hands-on training using modern analytical tools and software. The curriculum emphasizes practical applications, enabling learners to analyze complex datasets and develop predictive models for industry needs.
Advanced Optical Diagnostic Techniques
Focused on optical instruments, this course explores various laser-based diagnostic tools. It covers spectroscopy methods, including absorption, emission, and Raman spectroscopy.
