Meghalaya NEET PG 2025 Round 1 Results Out; 8 Secure MD/MS Seats

Shillong, Meghalaya — The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) has declared the Meghalaya National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG 2025) Round 1 seat allotment results. Eight candidates have secured provisional admissions for Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) programs. Allotted candidates must complete all admission formalities by December 3, 2025 , to secure their seats.

The official results are now accessible online. Candidates can view the Meghalaya NEET PG Round 1 seat allotment list directly on the NEIGRIHMS website atneigrihms.gov.in. Provisional seat allotments were made based on candidate merit. This process considered eligibility under both the NEIGRIHMS pass-out category and the North East open category.

Round 1 Allotment Overview

A total of eight candidates successfully received seat allotments in this first round of the Meghalaya NEET PG counselling for 2025. These admissions grant entry into specialized MD and MS courses offered within the region. The allotment process focused strictly on merit-based selection, as per NEIGRIHMS guidelines. Successful candidates now proceed to the next stage of admission.

Current Vacant Seats

Despite the initial allotments, NEIGRIHMS has reported several vacant seats remaining after Round 1. Under the NEIGRIHMS pass-out category, four specific departmental seats are still available. These include one seat each in the departments of anatomy, forensic medicine, microbiology, and biochemistry. According to the official notification, no eligible candidates opted for these particular specializations during the first counselling phase.

Furthermore, seven additional seats remain vacant under the North East open category. These include one seat each in the departments of forensic medicine, microbiology, pathology, ophthalmology, pharmacology, anesthesiology, and physiology. Similar to the NEIGRIHMS pass-out category, these vacancies occurred because no candidates chose to pursue these specific programs, as stated in the official communication.

Crucial Reporting Deadline

Candidates who have received a provisional seat allotment in Meghalaya NEET PG Round 1 must report to their assigned college. This mandatory reporting includes submitting a signed seat acceptance and declaration form. Additionally, candidates must pay the stipulated admission fee of Rs 69,000 . All these formalities must be completed on or before December 3, 2025 .

Strict adherence to this deadline is critical. Failure to report to the college, submit the required forms, or complete the admission fee payment by December 3, 2025, will lead to the automatic cancellation of the provisional seat allotment. The vacant seat will then become available for reallocation in the subsequent Round 2 counselling process, without any further individual notification.

Required Documents for Verification

During the physical reporting and document verification stage, candidates must produce a complete set of original documents. These essential documents include a valid photo identification card, the NEET PG admit card, and the official NEET PG scorecard. Candidates must also present their provisional seat allotment letter and their Class 12 mark sheet.

Additional mandatory documents for submission and verification are the state domicile certificate and any applicable reservation certificates. Candidates must also provide their specific category certificate, if relevant. Ensuring all these documents are original, valid, and available for scrutiny is a prerequisite for admission confirmation.

Future Counselling and Academic Start

The schedule and detailed notification for Meghalaya NEET PG Round 2 counselling will be released at a later date by NEIGRIHMS. Candidates who did not secure a seat in Round 1, or those seeking to upgrade their allotted specialization, should monitor the official website for updates. The academic session for all admitted students in 2025 is officially scheduled to commence on December 22, 2025 .
