Gujarat NEET PG: Choice Filling Extended to Nov 28, New Seats

The Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPPGMEC) has extended the deadline for Gujarat NEET PG 2025 Round 1 choice filling. The new deadline is now November 28 , until 11 am .

This extension directly results from the addition of new postgraduate medical seats. Specifically, MD Pathology and MD Paediatrics programs at C. U. Shah Medical College & Hospital received increased intake capacities.

Revised Choice Filling Process

The choice filling process allows eligible candidates to select their preferred postgraduate medical programs and colleges. Candidates rank their desired institutions and specializations. This extension provides these students additional time to finalize their choices, a critical step for their medical specialization path.

Updated Seat Availability

Before these additions, Gujarat offered a total of 2,364 MD, MS, and PG Diploma seats. These degrees represent advanced medical specializations for doctors. The exact updated count of available seats has not been formally released by the ACPPGMEC.

However, applicants can access college-wise seat availability during the choice filling period. This ensures they make informed decisions with the most current data. The ACPPGMEC confirmed that tuition fees for the newly expanded MD Pathology and MD Paediatrics subjects have been revised.

Admission Policy Amendments

ACPPGMEC also introduced changes to the Gujarat NEET PG admission policy. These amendments modify how vacant reserved category seats are allocated. The goal is to maximize seat utilization and ensure more medical positions are filled.

Under the revised policy, any vacant seats from reserved categories will transfer to unreserved categories. This conversion process will occur specifically during the 3rd Round of allotment. This ensures that seats do not remain empty if eligible candidates from specific quotas are unavailable.

For example, if NRI quota seats remain vacant, they will first move to the management quota. If these management quota seats also remain unfilled, they will then convert to the government quota. This systematic transfer ensures a broader pool of candidates can access these positions.

Similarly, vacant seats designated for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) will transfer to the General (Open) category. Vacant seats under In-service or Persons with Disabilities (PwD) quotas will also convert to their respective general categories under the new policy.

National Counselling Timeline Adjustments

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) recently revised the national counselling timelines. These adjustments ensure state-level counselling schedules align with the broader NEET PG All India Quota (AIQ) counselling calendar. This coordination helps standardize the admission process nationwide.

Key dates for the first round of admissions under the revised schedule are:

Event Deadline
Completion of State Round 1 Admission Process December 1
Last Date for State Quota Students to Join Allotted College December 7

Candidates must regularly check the official ACPPGMEC website, medadmgujarat.org, for further official announcements. Adhering to these revised deadlines is critical for all students participating in the postgraduate medical admission process.
