The Director of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has initiated the choice filling and locking process for the Assam National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Post Graduate (NEET PG) 2025. Eligible candidates can now select their preferred colleges and programmes for admission. This crucial step is conducted online through the official DME website,dme.assam.gov.in.
This counselling round targets filling 482 post-graduate medical seats. These seats are available in various government and private medical colleges across Assam. The admission is for Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and postgraduate diploma courses. Candidates must use their application number, username, password, and date of birth to log in and access the choice filling portal.
Choice Filling and Locking Instructions
Candidates must follow strict instructions during the choice filling and locking period. The official notification mandates that candidates must submit at least one preference. Submitting a form without any selected preferences will result in the candidate not participating in the counselling process. This means their application will not be considered for seat allotment.
The online portal has a built-in inactivity timer. Users face automatic logout if no activity occurs for 10 minutes. Candidates should frequently click the ‘save preferences’ button. This action ensures that all selected choices and any modifications are stored before logout.
Candidates have the option to choose a maximum of 109 preferences. After making their selections, candidates should manually lock their choices. While the system automatically locks the last saved preferences upon logout, early manual locking is advisable. This practice prevents unforeseen issues or last-minute changes from affecting the submission.
The notification specifies that choices not manually locked before the official deadline will be automatically locked. This automatic locking occurs based on the last saved position. Therefore, candidates are advised to complete and lock their preferences well in advance of the deadline.
