Hardoi School Gas Leak: 16 Students Unconscious, Probe Ordered

HARDOI – Sixteen students lost consciousness following a suspected gas leak at a private school in Sandila, Hardoi, on Thursday. All affected students were immediately rushed to two private hospitals.

One student required advanced medical attention. This child was referred to King George’s Medical University in Lucknow for specialized care.

Official Response and Investigation

District Magistrate Anunay Jha ordered a probe into the incident. Jha assured strict action once the cause of the leak is confirmed. Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena also reached the school site. Both officials met the children undergoing treatment.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the incident. He directed officials to ensure proper treatment for the affected children. Adityanath also instructed for a thorough investigation to be carried out.

Incident Details at School

Officials reported a strong gas smell spread through the school premises. This odor prompted several children to panic. Students ran out of their classrooms.

Teachers immediately evacuated all students from the building. School authorities informed parents and the administration about the incident.

Current Status and Legal Action

District Magistrate Jha confirmed approximately 16 students were affected. He stated that all students are currently stable. The source of the gas leak remains unknown.

Necessary legal action will follow after the official inquiry concludes.
