About This Scholarship
The Sanskriti • Pt. Vasant Thakar Memorial Fellowship is a distinguished initiative by the Sanskriti Foundation, designed to support well-established and highly talented classical music artists. This fellowship aims to recognize and provide a significant platform for excellent but often lesser-known artists, offering them the invaluable opportunity to be presented to a larger audience.
Indian Nationals from any genre of Indian Classical Music, including both vocal and instrumental forms, are eligible to apply. Proposals that align with and further the program's objectives are particularly encouraged.
Benefits of the Fellowship:
Selected fellows will receive a substantial grant worth ₹1,00,000. This grant will be disbursed in two distinct installments:
• The first installment of ₹50,000 will be provided at the commencement of the fellowship, supporting the initial phase of the project.
• The second installment of ₹50,000 will be disbursed upon the successful submission of the complete project report. Fellows may also be requested to give a recital at this time, showcasing their work and contributions.
Eligibility Criteria
• Indian Nationals from any genre of Indian Classical Music (vocal or instrumental) are eligible to apply for this prestigious fellowship.
• Proposals that actively promote the specific objectives of the program are especially welcomed and encouraged.
Required Documents
The following documents are required to be attached along with your application for the fellowship:
• An updated curriculum vitae (CV) or resume. Please ensure that your CV is concise and does not exceed 2 pages in length.
• A short synopsis of your project proposal. This should clearly outline your project's scope, objectives, and anticipated outcomes.
• Few samples of previous works. These samples should effectively demonstrate your artistic abilities and past achievements in Indian Classical Music.

Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship through the following steps:
