SAU Launches Executive PhD Program for Working Professionals

South Asian University (SAU) has officially launched an executive PhD program. The first cohort of 13 experienced applicants will begin their research by the end of 2025 . This program targets mid-career professionals seeking advanced research opportunities.

SAU, an international institution established by the eight SAARC member nations, designed the program to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical industry experience. It caters specifically to individuals balancing significant work obligations with academic pursuits.

Target Participants

The executive PhD program is open to a diverse group of experienced professionals. This includes civil servants, subject matter experts, and business executives. Mid-career professionals across various sectors are eligible to apply.

First Cohort Profile

The initial group of 13 participants demonstrates the program’s reach across different professional fields. It includes senior civil servants and officials from United Nations agencies. Diplomats from SAARC member countries are also part of this inaugural batch.

Additionally, veteran editors from national media organizations and award-winning professionals from creative industries have joined the program. This mix of backgrounds aims to foster a rich research environment.

Program Structure

The executive PhD program employs a hybrid learning model. It combines interactive online courses, self-study modules, and classroom sessions. This flexible framework supports senior professionals managing demanding careers.
