The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has revised the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) structure. The new exam pattern, syllabus, schedule, eligibility, and fee structure become effective from the June 2026 session . The January 2026 session will be the final exam conducted in remote-proctored mode.
Key Changes and Exam Format
ICSI will now conduct the CSEET examination three times annually: in February , June , and October . All examinations will be held in offline mode at designated centers. Each subject paper will be assessed on separate days. Question papers will carry 100 marks each. The examination is scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5:45 PM .
Eligibility Criteria
Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply for the CSEET. Candidates must have passed the Class 12 board examination to appear for the test. Certain categories of students are exempt from taking the CSEET:
- Candidates who have cleared the ICSI Foundation .
- Those who have passed the final stage of a recognized cost accountancy course .
- Individuals holding a bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate degree .
Students currently in their final year or appearing for the final semester examination of a bachelor’s degree may also register directly for the CS Executive Programme without taking the CSEET.
Registration Windows and Fees
The initial registration window for the CSEET June 2026 session runs from December 16, 2025 , to February 15, 2026 . A separate registration window for the same June 2026 session will be open from March 1 to April 7, 2026 . The registration window for the October 2026 session is scheduled from February 16, 2026, to May 31, 2026 .
The CSEET registration fee is Rs 7,500 . This fee covers student induction programmes (SIP) and online classes. An additional examination fee of Rs 1,500 is payable separately for each session a candidate wishes to appear for.

Passing Marks and Assessment Rules
To pass the CSEET, candidates must secure a minimum of 40% marks in each individual paper . Additionally, candidates must achieve an aggregate score of 50% across all papers combined . ICSI officials have confirmed that the CSEET does not include provisions for exemption or carrying forward marks from previous attempts.
