AIA Director of Policy and Regulation, David Potts, stated the certificate aims to bridge the gap between local education and international benchmarks. He added that the program provides practical skills, global recognition, and mobility for finance professionals.
India as a Key Market
India represents a crucial market for the AIA due to its dynamic financial sector. David Potts highlighted India’s rapidly evolving financial ecosystem, noting the country is home to over 400,000 accountants. This talent pool, combined with demand for international qualifications, positions India as a strategic focus for AIA.
Chandru Iyer, British Deputy High Commissioner for Karnataka and Kerala, commented on the significance of education in the India-UK partnership. He linked AIA’s entry to the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, which prioritizes educational collaboration. Iyer affirmed support for AIA’s growth in the Indian market.
Expected Impact
The Certificate in Business Finance program expects to support a significant number of Indian professionals. Official statements project nearly 10,000 Indian professionals will benefit within the first two to three years. This figure is anticipated to surpass 20,000 as awareness of AIA’s global credentials increases.

AIA marked its official entry into the Indian market with a launch event at The Chancery Pavilion in Bengaluru.
