OP Jindal Global University (JGU) has announced five new Short-Term Study Abroad Programmes (ST-SAPs) for Summer 2026. These programs will send students to five universities across Japan. The initiatives aim to provide academic exposure, cultural immersion, and international learning experiences.

The ST-SAPs will take place between June 15 and July 4, 2026 . Participating students will attend various institutions. These include the University of Tokyo, Chuo University, University of Yamanashi, Kyorin University, and Musashi University.

Strengthening India-Japan Academic Ties

C Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of JGU, stated the programs will strengthen India-Japan bilateral relations. Kumar highlighted Japan’s leadership in innovation, governance, culture, and sustainable development. He called these programs an extraordinary opportunity for immersive learning. He also emphasized JGU’s role in building one of the largest India-Japan academic networks.

Kumar added that this expansion reflects JGU’s commitment to globalizing Indian higher education. The programs create pathways for students to engage globally. This prepares graduates equipped to address complex international challenges.

Previous Study Abroad Success

JGU initiated its first ST-SAP earlier this year. A cohort of 40 students traveled to Temple University Japan. This marked a significant step for JGU in facilitating deeper cultural exposure and academic engagement for its students. The program aimed to increase student mobility between India and Japan.

Extensive Japanese Institutional Network

JGU currently maintains over 25 institutional partnerships across Japan. These collaborations include national, public, and private institutions. Key partners include the University of Tokyo, United Nations University, Chuo University, Doshisha University, University of Yamanashi, Ritsumeikan University, Osaka Gakuin University, and Hiroshima University.
