Thirty-one girl students sustained injuries after their school bus overturned and fell into a 25-foot gorge in Jharkhand’s Koderma district on Saturday. The incident occurred while the students were traveling from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Puto, Chandwara, as part of an educational tour.

The accident took place on the Ranchi-Patna main road within the Koderma Valley area. The bus was operating under the Koderma police station limits when it veered off the road and overturned. It subsequently plunged into a 25-foot deep gorge.
The students were en route to Rajgir and Nalanda for an educational excursion. A total of 71 students were participating in the tour, traveling in two separate buses. The bus involved in the accident was carrying 31 girls, all of whom were injured.

Immediately following the accident, 31 students were admitted to Sadar Hospital. Civil Surgeon Anil Kumar confirmed the admissions. Of these, 10 students have since been discharged from the hospital. As of the latest update, 21 students remain under medical observation.
Medical assessments indicate that three to four girls suffered deeper injuries. However, their conditions are not considered serious or life-threatening. Hospital officials anticipate that most of the remaining injured students will be discharged by Saturday evening. Doctors are closely monitoring all students to ensure their recovery.
