About This Scholarship
The Sanskriti Foundation invites applications for its annual Smt. Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship in Indian Classical Music and Dance. This fellowship is open to young artists who aspire to contribute towards enriching the art form.
The primary objective of the Fellowship is to encourage promising artists. It aims to help them develop their potential and enhance their skills by providing them with the necessary resources and dedicated time for their art.
Selected fellows will receive a scholarship worth INR 1 Lakh. This amount will be disbursed in two installments:
• The first installment of INR 50,000 will be provided at the commencement of the fellowship.
• The second installment of INR 50,000 will be given upon submission of the complete project report. Fellows may also be requested to give a recital of their art at this time.
Applications for this fellowship are accepted throughout the year.
Eligibility Criteria
The following candidates are eligible for the Sanskriti • Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship:
• The fellowship is open exclusively to Indian Nationals.
• Applicants must be an artist from any genre of Indian Classical Music (Vocal or Instrumental) or Dance (any form or choreography).
• Candidates are required to have several years of formal training in Indian classical Music or Dance.
• Fellows must have at least 2-3 solo performances to their credit.
Required Documents
The following documents are required to be attached along with your application:
• An updated curriculum vitae/resume that should not exceed 2 pages in length.
• A CD of their recitals showcasing their artistic work.
• A write-up of not more than 500 words, clearly explaining their proposed project.
• A few samples of previous works to demonstrate their artistic background and capabilities.
• The project of performances outlining their planned artistic endeavors.
• The names and contact addresses/telephones of 2 referees who can vouch for their artistic skills and dedication.
